    Pro-Union Music Show

    Fire And Season and co. will be doing a music show in support of their specific union (TSEU) and unions in general. Bring yourself and BYOB.
  • Friday, January 23
    6 PM – 8 PM
    Zine & Writing Workshop
    Bring a short story (or I guess another piece of writing) to make into zine. No pressure to have it perfect! The beauty of zines is that they are expected to be a little ramshackle. Or, if you just want to learn how to make a zine, then you can come in and we will teach you. We will, if you make your short story into a zine, put it on our short story shelf to the delight of dozens (dozens!) of readers who will eventually pick it off our shelves.

    Books & Bakes
    A fundraising bake sale to do some good in the world. Come in, get some baked goods, feel the warmth of knowing you did some mutual aid while feeling the warmth of pastries. I know that a good handful of them will be vegan (because the people making them are vegan), and I can assure you that they are delicious.
  • Sunday, January 25
    2 PM – 7 PM
    Bookbinding Workshop
    If you come in during this time, then I will teach you how to bind a book. I will be defaulting to teaching a simple codex, but I will also learn/teach a Japanese stab binding if you want to hammer through some paper. It should take around two hours to do at a okay pace, so if you show up before 5pm, then we should be able to get it finished. Also, not finishing is acceptable. If you have a specific text you want bound, then email me at LDK@monkeywrenchbooks.org. Otherwise I will provide the text. Or you can make a blank notebook!

    Masked Karaoke Night!!!

1/31, 6pm-8, but I will be singing until whoever is driving me home rips the microphone from my hands, and you are welcome to join.

Please wear an N95, KN95, or equivalent, we have some at the store! Rapid testing before the event is encouraged, we have over 300 tests here so feel free to grab a handful. Air purifiers will be present 💕💨

If you are sick/symptomatic or recently exposed to someone sick/symptomatic with COVID or another virus or cold, please stay home! It takes trust and care to come together, and we have disabled and immunocompromised people to watch out for. With love, we'll see you next month!
