A great work from one of the great old anarchists Peter Kropotkin. This book is a long and singular argument in favor of decentralization and localization of production of the basic needs of life. It is a very rural, agricultural vision, appropriate to his time and place, and perhaps even more appropriate today for people interested in moving towards a local foods and manufacturing system. Kropotkin's argument rested upon the idea that local production would make the central regulation and coordination of major governments and corporations unnecessary, allowing for a society of anarchist towns and villages.
