ADVOCACY ORGANIZATIONS
- League of American Bicyclists - LAB (used to be the League of American Wheelmen) invented bike advocacy before the age of the automobile, about a hundred years ago, to lobby for paved roads. We're affiliated because we ride bikes too. Check it out.
- Adventure Cycling - Cycle Touring mostly but more than just a source for cross-country tour maps, excellent magazine, equipment reviews, technique, advocacy.
- Texas Bicycle Coalition TBC is manning the front lines for you, dear cyclists. If it wasn't for TBC you wouldn't be legal riding on those farm market roads, dear Texans.
- Yellow Bike Project of Austin - A hands-on opportunity to make the world a better place with bicycles.
- Houston Area Bicycle Alliance The folks who organize the annual Moonlight Ramble and try to keep Houston bikable.
- Bicycle Austin , Not exactly an organization, Michael Bluejay's labor of love to Austin cycling and cycling everywhere is beyond compare. A well organized and useful cycling resource

- CAMPO Capitol Area Metropolitan Planning Organization - These guys give TXDOT the blessing to spend federal tax dollars to build our local highways - Maybe they ought to plan things a little better with us in mind. - Go to a public hearing and be heard.
- City of Austin Bicycle - Pedestrian Program . That's what it says on the door. Not much happening on this web page, but it's ours.
- Charolette DOT Bicycle Program . - Cooler than it sounds. A nicely done set of bike advocacy pages.
- Comal County Trails Inc. Building a vision of Hike & Bike Trails in the New Braunfels area. Excellent Bike Links on links page.
- Texas Statutes Online What are your rights on the road and just about anything else you might want to know? Don't ask Joe Blow! Find out for yourself right here at the source.
- Bicycle Blunders Presentation. From the LAB Reform advocates. A great place to start getting informed about safe bicycling and what advocacy should be.
- Safety Tips from Michael Bluejay , an excellent resource for any cyclist.

- Nashbar Bike - Decent stuff, good descriptions, nice quick browsing web site - Great deals on some clearance items
- Wallingford Bicycle Parts - Need a hard to find classic Brooks leather saddle or a good set of fenders? This is the place
- Cambria Bike Outfitters - Mostly MTB but some road stuff - Super clearance deals - get their super-detailed print catalog and go blind reading the tiny print.

JensonUSA - Mostly MTB stuff. Out of the blue they sent me this excellent catalog in July 2003. Never used them yet, but looks like a good source.
Excel Sports Boulder - Not cheap, but great place for hard to find upscale parts - best source of Ritchey components and Campagnolo bits & pieces (the webmaster likes Ritchey components for their good design and reasonable prices )
Performance Cycles - Decent stuff, decent site - consistent low prices, but no super deals.
Colorado Cyclist - Excellent retailer of high-zoot stuff only - no junk. New interface much improved. Reasonable prices considering the high-end emphasis.
Harris Cyclery New England bike shop site that takes phone-in orders - old school and very cool - exceptional place to look for fixed gear components.
Price Point - Looks good - not rated
Bike Parts USA - looks good - not rated
BikeSmart.com - Looks good for deals on top-shelf stuff - not rated.
Branford Bikes - pricey - dated looking web site - but there's a good reason this shop has endured.
FoolsCrow.com - I guess he's selling bike stuff. Not your average bike retailer, that's for sure! Worth a look
